Give yourself Permission to be Perplexed
“I do not know.” “I am confused.” I am completely lost.” "I do not understand.” “I am not sure how I feel.” To experience a state of perplexity is to be human; it is often a result of experiencing change, something new or something difficult, all of which are signs of growth and movement. To be mindful with our state of perplexity, is to tolerate the discomfort, practice accepting our confusion, and non-judgmentally explore what fuels it internally and externally.
Once the willfulness towards the occurring disconnection and distress subsides, practicing the willingness to be perplexed can significantly activate an individual’s awareness, leading to meaningful change and potentially resulting in a moment of realization or understanding that allows an individual to perceive something in a new and transformative way. This experience can lead to profound changes in one’s thought processes, insights, or approaches to problem-solving.
By being mindfully perplexed, we can activate deep reflection, exploration, or engagement with new ideas and perspectives, providing clarity and fresh pathways to transition forward.
Being perplexed can be pivotal in personal growth, as it can activate the curious mind, enhancing one's ability to navigate challenges and improve overall mind-body wellness and connection to the world.
Be Perplexed, and allow yourself to embrace the complexities of life that can often leave us feeling uncertain or confused.
Allow the unknowing to exist, and courageously dive into the endless possibilities that lie ahead. Fully engage and participate in the present moment, even when you find yourself uncertain of the outcome or direction. Embracing this uncertainty can lead to unexpected growth.
Embracing your confusion can open up new pathways for understanding and personal growth that you may not have previously considered. By allowing yourself to sit with the uncertainty, you create space for exploration and the possibility of discovering deeper insights about yourself and your experiences.
